While I was in Tuscany without internet I heard through twitter that Ferris passed away. I've written this post a few days ago upon returning to Belgium but never published it.

Here it is:

Ferris, you might exist on another plane now, so perhaps you do get a hint of what I'm going to say now...

To the people that knew Ferris, were family or friends. We all share the same pain for some it will be a harsh pain for some it will be a light pain. But thinking about him will be painful for everyone for a while as he was a genuine article!

In the time that we were part of developer relations in Gentoo we shared a lot of moments and I always found him to be steadfast and friendly.

We had our fun mate, we had our laughs... We also fought and I can't remember who won or who lost, but it sure hell was worth each time, only for getting to know you better.

I'll never be able to hump you anymore and that hurts!

Know you have influenced me in a positive way and that I will carry you with me forever!
